Spring Break - Part 4 - The End

We ended our Spring Break by going on a 4 day/3 night camping trip to the Cuyamacas. We didn't realize how cold it would be so we probably won't be camping in March again! We still had a great time hiking and exploring around the area. One day we took what we thought was a one mile hike around our campground. It turned out to be closer to five miles but the kids did a great job and we got to see a lot of neat things. The next day we went exploring at the waterfalls and had fun climbing around the rocks, feeding the squirrels and finding a frog. We liked our campsite so much that we booked the same one for June!

Here is our camp all set up.

Relaxing by the fire, waiting for the marshmallows.

Hiking around the falls.

Here's the frog we found.

What you don't see is the drop off the front of that rock! Yikes!

Easter Sunday

We've gotten far behind in our postings. Our good friends Cheryl and Mike had a new baby on April 8th and Baby Kate had to have open heart surgery the next week. We have been updating the Gates Family blog (see our link) for them so that their friends and family could stay informed on Kate's progress. Anyhow, we have some catching up to do.

We last left you at the Easter Social and our fun Spring Break continued. After the social we came home and dyed Easter eggs to take to L.A. with us. On Sunday the kids found their Easter baskets, left by the Easter bunny, and then we left for Great Grandma Moon's house to celebrate with the rest of the family. It was a beautiful, sunny day perfect for Easter basket and egg hunting.

Waiting for the first round of eggs to dye.

Jacob's basket was left in the fort.

Olivia's basket was hidden behind the barbecue.

Up in L.A. the kids were spoiled with different baskets from all the relatives.
Here is Olivia checking out her first lip gloss.

Jacob found a basket filled with dinosaur fossil eggs and models to build.

Here is Livie's reaction to Mom saying, "NO more chips before dinner!"

One day we will be able to get both kids to smile nicely at the same time!
