November (finally)

After our exciting trip to New York things just got crazier in our household. We were only home a few days when Jacob broke his arm. Aunt Brandie and Uncle Sean were quite relieved it didn't happen while they were in charge! It was one of those freak accidents that you never imagine happening. Jacob was jumping over Michael's legs, as he lay on the carpet, and he tripped and fell landing on his arm. He ended up breaking both bones right in between his wrist and elbow. It was a horrible sight to see and we ended up heading to the hospital in an ambulance. Jacob was amazing and visited with everybody right up until they put him out in order to set the bones. He ended up having the cast removed on December 22nd and you'd never know that it was ever broken.

November was also a time to celebrate Thanksgiving. This was Jacob's first school performance and he did a great job as a pilgrim. He learned some fun songs and even did some dancing. We were thankful to find some time to visit with our good friends, the Orlandos! They were in transition, relocating from the Republic of Georgia to their new home in Costa Rica, and were able to squeeze in a visit on their hectic travel schedule. They came to Jacob's performance and then we all enjoyed lunch together and had time to catch up. After lunch it was good-bye to the Orlandos and home to prepare for our Thanksgiving. We celebrated the day with our combined families and cooked dinner for 20! I guess we were too busy cooking because I don't have any pictures of our celebration. More November news to come.....

It looks like we don't feed the kid!

New York

November 1st Michael had to fly to New York for business. His client, Asics, was a sponsor of the New York City Marathon and Michael went to check out the advertising. Auntie Brandie and Uncle Sean were nice enough to stay home with Jacob and Olivia so Jessica could tag along. It was a whirlwind trip starting with a red eye flight on November 1st and returning November 5th! We were able to see and do so much in such a short time. We started the first day by having lunch at a deli and wandering through Times Square and up 5th Avenue. Back at the hotel later Michael had a short meeting and then it was off to dinner with our old friend Josey Miller and her fiancee Jeff. We ate at a great restaurant in the village called Tante Baci. After dinner we went to the top of the Empire State Building to check out the view. Friday Michael had to check out the Asics booth and look for some of the ads around town while Jessica went shopping. Later that evening we went out with Michael's co-workers to a restaurant called Savore back down in the village. Saturday was the big sightseeing day. We went to the Statue of Liberty and walked around the World Trade Center site. Jessica helped the NYFD put out a trashcan fire with her coffee and then it was off to look for more advertising around town. After a quick stop to the famed Macy's (it was huge) it was back to the hotel to get dressed for the theater. We were lucky to get tickets to see Wicked and after the show went out to dinner at Rosie O'Gradys. Sunday we got up early and took a walk around town and through Central Park. It was Marathon Day so after our walk we met up with the rest of the crowd and headed to the grandstand at the Marathon finish line. We could only stay long enough to watch Lance Armstrong finish and then it was off to the airport for our flight home. In all it was wonderful to get away for a few days even though we were exhausted!

We're Back!

Hi Friends and Family! We are finally settling down here at the Catanzaro household and we promise to go back and update everybody over the last few months. We left off with our trip to the pumpkin patch so we will finish out October with Halloween costumes. Olivia was a little lamb and Jacob was Batman! Mom and Dad even got into the spirit with Michael dressing up like Clark Kent and Jessica as a spider witch. Here are a few costume shots and the kids going trick or treating. Keep checking back because we will be heading into November soon!
