Jacob's First Wedding

On March 11th our cousin Jason married a wonderful girl named Leah. They had a beautiful wedding even though it was a very cold and rainy day. We were so honored when they asked us if Jacob could be in the wedding. Little did we know how hard it is to attend a wedding with an uncooperative 3 year old. While Jacob wasn't on his greatest behavior (the wedding was in the middle of nap time) he did make it down the aisle and looked quite handsome doing it! The day was filled with ups and downs with Jacob but it looked as if Jason and Leah were oblivious to our crazy boy and they were just happy to be celebrating their special day.

Jacob was the ring bearer and Alyssa was the flower girl. Between Alyssa and the new Hot Wheels that Auntie Brandie brought Jacob made it all the way down the aisle!
After the wedding Jacob wanted nothing to do with taking pictures. He refused to stand with the wedding party and have his picture taken.

After a lot of cajoling he finally agreed to take a picture with Jason and Leah and the other kids. Thank goodness it turned out nice!

Even we clean up pretty good for special events!

Here is Olivia in her special party dress! The idea was to get a nice picture of the two kids together, all dressed up and looking good. Needless to say that didn't happen.

Jacob's First Trip to the Dentist

Before heading back to work I have been trying to get some things out of the way. One item on the agenda was Jacob's first visit to the dentist. As much as we love our regular dentist we wanted to take Jacob to somebody who specialized in pediatric dentistry and had a fun atmosphere. Right here in Eastlake we found an office that has everything a kid could want! They have a playroom full of dress-up clothes, books, blocks, video games, and movies. Even the actual dental rooms are decorated for kids and have televisions on the ceiling. Needless to say all of that plus the stickers, prizes, free toothbrush and more made Jacob's check-up a success. While we were there we received some good news and some bad. The good news is that his teeth are well taken care of and very clean. Mom and Dad will be patting ourselves on the back for that one! Unfortunately Jacob fell when he was learning to walk and chipped one of his front teeth. Surprisingly the tooth with the chip is fine but the other front tooth has a fracture in the root that we weren't aware of. While it seems to be okay now it will probably fall out much sooner than it is supposed to. We will keep an eye on it and one day Jacob's picture will show up on the blog with one tooth missing. I am very proud of how great Jacob did especially since I'm not too fond of the dentist myself!

Jacob was very happy to show off his smile.

Open wide!

Getting ready for x-rays.
