Spring Break - Part 3

The next fun event on our Spring Break agenda was the annual Eastlake Spring Social. It was held the Saturday morning before Easter. The kids love to see the Easter Bunny and have the egg hunt. It is nice that every kid gets to grab eggs and then trade them in for goody bags. Nobody leaves empty handed and it doesn't matter how many eggs you manage to get. This year we realized that Olivia is much braver than Jacob was at 2. Not only did she run other kids over to get the eggs but she went into the older kids sections to take theirs too! When Jacob was that age he would see the crowd of kids hesitantly pick up the egg closest to him and be done with it.

The highlight of the morning was seeing the Easter Bunny.
There was coloring and crafts for the kids to do.

They always love to play on the playground.

Here's Jacob waiting for the egg hunt to start. Why is it called a hunt when they are in plain sight? It should be an Easter Egg clean up!

Here's Livie after the littlest kids got to hunt.

Counting to see who got more, the competition never ends with these two.

Spring Break - Part 2

After our fun day at the beach we needed a day of rest so Wednesday we lounged around the house and did nothing. We were actually resting up for our next day of fun which was a trip to Disneyland. Back in February we were able to get 3 day tickets at a discount and we still had one day left on our ticket to visit. Since it would expire we squeezed in a weekday trip with Michael taking a day off and Auntie Brandie coming to stay with Olivia. Jacob is big enough to go on all the rides and Olivia isn't so we think it's better to wait awhile longer before she comes with us. Anyhow, we met Grandpa Larry at the park in the morning and despite it being Spring Break we managed to have a great day getting on all the rides we wanted to. We even had time to explore the new Pirate Island (formally Tom Sawyer's Island) and search for Captain Jack Sparrow. We stayed in the park late enough to see Fantasmic and the fireworks show and then we headed for home. Another fun day on Spring Break!

Dad and Jacob in the Tomorrowland Rockets.
The boys on Pirate Island.

Jacob really enjoyed roaming around on all the pirate things.

We couldn't believe it when we ran into Mrs. Soto, Jacob's teacher!

We found Jack Sparrow and Jacob got his autograph on his map of the island.

Heading back from the island in search of more rides, Mom had to have a picture in front of the castle. According to Jacob castles are for girls!
