Sometimes you just have to get away despite every sign that says you shouldn't! After a couple weeks of sickness and days of rain we still decided to take our prearranged trip to Disneyland and it was certainly worth it. Months ago we booked a room along with Auntie Brandie, Uncle Sean, Grandma Vickie and Grandpa for two nights in Anaheim. As the room was nonrefundable and it was the last weekend to get Grandma's Wildfire Hero discount we decided to make the trip. We learned in Costa Rica that a little rain never hurt anybody so we packed up our rain gear, dressed warmly, and braved the elements. We left Olivia at home with Grandma Dottie and didn't tell Jacob where we were going until we were on the road.
We got to Anaheim Friday night and started our trip with dinner and shopping in Downtown Disney. We ate at the Rainforest Cafe and Jacob had a great time devouring a giant Volcano brownie desert and shopping at the Lego shop.
Saturday morning we got up early and after breakfast made our way to Disneyland. We were lucky enough to avoid rain until about 4:00 in the afternoon and even then it wasn't that bad. We stayed in Disneyland the whole day and didn't leave until about 10:00. We made it to most of the main rides but missed Thunder Mountain because we didn't want to wait in the rain. Jacob's favorites are Buzz Lightyear and Pirates. He got to do Space Mountain and Indiana Jones this time but didn't love them. He has decided that outside fast rides are great but inside dark fast rides are a little too scary. He was quite brave but didn't jump at the chance to do them again. We were getting quite tired but wanted to see the 9:30 firework show. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate and it had to be cancelled. We still had a great time.
Sunday morning the rain poured down and Grandma and Grandpa decided not to do California Adventure with us. They headed home after breakfast but we decided to give it a try. Luckily the rain stopped about 15 minutes after we got there and the rest of the day was great. We only stayed until about 2:00 since we all had work and school. It wasn't crowded so it was plenty of time to do the most important rides! Jacob got to see a lot of characters while we waited for the rest of the group to try the "Tower of Terror". Mom easily gave up her chance to go and waited with Jacob! We have another day on our ticket so we are thinking about making a trip back over Spring Break but we are spoiled and don't want to go when it's so busy so we will have to think about it.
